CU Package 8 – BizTalk Server 2013 R2
To those of you who have been faithful to BizTalk Server 2013, I have great news! CU Package 8 – BizTalk Server 2013 R2 is here!
This update applies to BizTalk Server R2: Branch, Developer, Enterprise, and Standard.
Before installing this update, make sure your computer meets the pre-requisites necessary to use the CU Package 8 – BizTalk Server 2013 R2 update. Hotfixes for BizTalk Server 2013 R2 are enclosed in the new CU Package 8 – BizTalk Server 2013 R2.
Hotfixes should always be tested prior to their deployment in a production environment.
I would also suggest applying the latest BizTalk Server 2013 update release. Because the builds are cumulative, every new update includes the hot fixes and security updates included in previous BizTalk Server 2013 R2 releases.
Things to have in consideration about the CU Package 8 – BizTalk Server 2013 R2
Every CU hotfix package contains all the package elements. Nevertheless, a CU package updates exclusively the elements that exist in the system.

Note – You may experience issues if you run incompatible versions. If you use the MQSeries adapter, MQSAgent.dll must be updated on the IBM WebSphere MQ server to the same cumulative update level that’s on BizTalk Server.
To do this, make sure that you run the same cumulative update setup on the IBM WebSphere MQ server.

CU Package 8 – BizTalk Server 2013 R2 information
Conditions
To apply this CU package, you must have BizTalk Server 2013 R2 installed.
Note – To apply the matching hotfixes, you must have the following components installed:
- Microsoft UDDI Services 3.0 (this is included on the BizTalk Server 2013 R2 installation disk)
- Microsoft BizTalk Adapters for Enterprise Applications (also known as BizTalk LOB Adapters)
- Microsoft BizTalk 2013 R2 Accelerator
If a Readme.txt file is included in this cumulative update package, see Readme.txt for more information about how to install this update.
Note – The cumulative update package is a unified package that contains both 32-bit (x86) and 64-bit (amd64/x64) files. To install the update properly, run the Setup.exe file. Never run other files, such as .msp files, directly.
Note – An improved hotfix installer is used in the cumulative update package. When you install the cumulative update package, the installer will display a list of the updates and fixes for each feature.
Restart requirement
